Persona 5 Royal is the updated version of Persona 5, a JRPG that sees you take on the role of Joker, a high-school student who has moved to a new town under probation, after being falsely accused of a crime. Joker soon discovers that he possesses the ability to harness Personas, supernatural manifestations of the psyche that offer great power to their user. He quickly becomes caught up in the Metaverse, a realm where distorted desires are made real, allowing Persona users to trigger changes of heart in those who seek to harm others, making them confess to their crimes.
You’ll play as Joker but have some control over other Persona-using students he encounters along the way while fighting together in the Metaverse. This misfit group of teenage vigilantes are known as The Phantom Thieves of Hearts, and their journey is a long and complicated one. Here’s how long it will take to uncover their story.
How Long Does It Take To Complete Persona 5 Royal?
The main storyline of Persona 5 Royal is pretty much fixed since it follows a calendar structure. According to How Long To Beat, just completing this without deviating will take around 102 hours or so. If you include the basic side quests in Momentos, this will increase to around 123 hours.
You can shave a little off this time if you make liberal use of the skip button. This allows you to fast-forward through cut scenes and dialogue and just make the choices. However, while it’s useful for repetitive tasks such as exercise or studying, mostly you’ll want to watch the cut scenes to keep up with the story. Minor Momentos targets are also skippable, although you will have to explore each area and unlock it all to complete the game.
