Jeremy Renner In ‘Critical But Stable’ Condition Following Accident
Renner suffered severe injuries from an accident that left him hospitalized.
Jeremy Renner, who is best known for playing the Marvel superhero Hawkeye in many Marvel products, including his own Disney Plys series Hawkeye, suffered an injury that has put him in “critical, but stable” condition.
Marvel fans who have grown attached to Renner’s Hawkeye will be glad to know that it appears that Renner got into a weather-related accident over the holidays that led to his hospitalization, and all indications are that he will make a recovery in due time, though it does sound his injury is something that will take time for him to recover from.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Renner’s injuries over the holidays “We can confirm Jeremy is in critical, but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” the rep told the Hollywood Reporter.“His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care.” While revealing how Renner was dealt following his injury, public information officer Kristin Vietti later confirmed that, as of now, what happened has shown to be an accident. “Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,” Vietti said. “Mr. Renner was the only involved party.”
Although Renner is known best these days for his portrayal of Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has also been starring as Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown. It feels like it’s been long forgotten now, but Renner broke into Hollywood over a decade ago with two performances that earned him Oscar nominations, between The Hurt Locker and The Town. It was that kind of star power he had acquired that led to his casting as Hawkeye in the first Thor movie that came out in 2011. Renner has proven to be bankable and capable as an actor over the past decade.
It’s for that reason that it’s a little frustrating to see Renner be held back by Marvel since Hawkeye has been largely nothing more than a side character since being introduced into the MCU in 2011. Renner has proven he has got excellent dramatic chops, and yet Marvel hasn’t really asked much from him regarding his development. Even in a show where he was technically the lead, Marvel has largely had him stay the same when he has demonstrated he is more than capable of an excellent performance. While they have delved into Hawkeye’s life multiple times, the character has largely remained the same, compared to Black Widow, who was developed very well.
That’s not to say he’s been bad as Hawkeye. In fact, when he’s going through something as that character, Renner has been reliably solid. Just not spectacular, but that’s not his fault. Once Renner fully recovers from his leg injury, he’ll hopefully take on more roles that demonstrate just how good of an actor he is.
